Technology has brought in a new standard of conducting business. There has never been a better time to take advantage of the many business opportunities online then now.




However, in order to be able to earn money from home,  I have learnt that time is money and money is also time. What I mean by that is managing your time and money is extremely important towards the success of your business, and if you don’t know how to manage your time and money, your chances of succeeding are slim.


Understanding this opposite truth is one of the best understandings you can have when it comes to managing your time and money.


You see, all you have in life is the time.  From the moment you take your first breath, the clock starts ticking.  The sands of time starts to fall down the hourglass, and the mix of your life starts to burn down. As soon as we leave the nest we realize it takes money to buy food, clothes and shelter, then we start trading in some of our precious merchandise – our time – for money. The trouble is most people stay on this never-ending treadmill, continually trading in their time for money, therefore never having enough time, or money.


Wise people leverage their time. They look for ways to earn money not directly connected to their time – whether that’s building a business where you earn money on other people’s time and effort or spend a limited amount of your time creating products or services that can be sold with no extra investing of your time. Then they commit the money they earn, by investing their money to work for them, establishing more money and eventually a surplus. The surplus of money buys time freedom.


Here are some examples taken from the Success Magazine : What Achievers Read


Scenario #1

If you want to earn $150,000 per year, your time is worth $50 per hour if your work 50 weeks per year and 60 hours per week.  If you spend 12 hours per day working, how many of those hours are on tasks that don’t produce $50-an-hour outcomes? That’s where you can buy back time by hiring someone at $25 to do your $25-per-hour work, while you stay focused on your $50-an hour-work.  You immediately have  a margin of $25.


Scenario #2

If you want to earn $100,000 per year, your time is worth $33 per hour if your work 50 weeks per year and 60 hours per week.  If you spend 12 hours per day working, how many of those hours are on tasks that don’t produce $30-an-hour outcomes? That’s where you can buy back time by hiring someone at $15 to do your $15-per-hour work, while you stay focused on your $33-an hour-work.  You immediately have  a margin of $15.


Scenario #3

If you want to earn $50,000 per year, your time is worth $16 per hour if your work 50 weeks per year and 60 hours per week.  If you spend 12 hours per day working, how many of those hours are on tasks that don’t produce $16-an-hour outcomes? That’s where you can buy back time by hiring someone at $8 to do your $8-per-hour work, while you stay focused on your $16-an hour-work.  You immediately have  a margin of $8.


I think you get the idea now. You can now invest this money to buy back other time obligations: cleaning your house, mowing your lawn, washing your car, tracking your bills, maintaining your blog,etc. Then you can spend your time doing things that bring your richer, fuller and more joyous experiences ….certainly more joyous than scrubbing your toilets.


If you know what you are good at, just think of what kind of market you can create within your own area of influence and residence. Starting out this way is a perfect way to try your hand out at running your own home business and as time passes, you can gradually make it bigger and more profitable.


Let me leave you the greatest secret of the rich;

“Estimate the value of your time, and then apply your money to purchase it back – at wholesale.”
