Integrity in business is defined as an ethical action that includes speaking the truth and not telling lies. We seek to say what we mean, and mean what we say.  Our walk should be consistent with our talk.

Henry Cloud points out in his book  “Integrity“  that in the end, character always rules. Integrity in business and life is a fundamental important attribute that will bring blessing in the end.

Integrity in business is not optional if you are seeking longevity. There are no short cuts, blurred lines or adequate excuses available to cover up a lack of integrity. What characteristics people are looking for is consistency, knowledge in the field, competency, and trust.

Integrity in business is a quality that is highly under-rated these days. Many people are so “pushed and pulled” by a not so hidden force called the “profit motive”, that they often find themselves compromising something, their values, their morals, their family, etc. They could also lose all credibility and trust from those they are trying to retain business from.


Integrity in business is as important as an individual’s personal reputation and self-worth. The pride we all take in working demands that we be honest, fair and ethical. My goal is to develop challenging opportunities for growth, be a blessing to others and a balance between my business and home life.


Integrity in business is giving high-value, high-content, as often as possible. When you hold a teleclass, even if you’re promoting product at the end, give really good content, material they can walk away with even if they don’t buy.

Integrity Story

Sally was a middle aged graduate student and in desperate need of a job. She had been looking for months and with the difficult economy kept running into dead ends.  Needless to say her normally cheerful, positive attitude was taking a hit and her house was going into foreclosure.  Despite the desperation that was beginning to set in, she persevered. She kept interviewing and putting the word out to every contact she had. Her family members were doing the same on her behalf.

Finally she got a break! A friend of a family member got her an interview at a local high end restaurant – in fact the best restaurant in her city. Sally had experience in the food industry, made a good impression and got the job as hostess. You would think that would be the happy ending of the story, right – persistence rewarded… but it isn’t.

She came home from her first night of work, sat down and cried. She said the customer service was horrible and the staff was rude to each other and to the patrons of the restaurant. Sally felt that the atmosphere was so negative and toxic she could not possibly continue to work there, it went against everything she believed in. She called the owner the next day and resigned. When asked why, she courageously told the truth. The owner asked her to please to come in and at least have a conversation about it – she agreed.

In the conversation with the owner, Sally had the opportunity to be specific about what she saw and experienced. She described the chaos, disrespect and poor customer service. Sally was completely honest with him about what would need to change for her to work there.  As it turns out, the owner knew he had a problem and didn’t know how to fix it. In Sally he saw an answer to his problem. He offered Sally a job as guest services manager. She would answer directly to him and had full authority to make policy changes related to customer service as well as hire, fire and train staff.

Sally accepted and since taking that position the work environment at the restaurant has changed dramatically. There has been a turnover in staff, the owner gets a flood of letters raving about the great customer service and Sally has gotten two raises in as many months. Sally is ecstatic, her positive energy permeates the restaurant and she is learning tons about the business from the owner – a definite plus for the MBA she is working on.

In spite of her truly desperate need for a job, Sally stuck with her values, courageously told the truth and her integrity was rewarded in a very big way. An awesome story wouldn’t you say. Sally is someone we can all learn from. What values would you take a stand on?

A Lesson In Humility Story

There was a young man who desired humility. He went to an old wise man and said to him, “Sir, I wish to be humble, but I don’t know how to obtain it. What must I do to acquire humility?”


The old wise man thought for a minute and replied, “Here is what you should do… go out and find someone who is beneath you and do something nice for him. Give him something that you have or do something for him that needs to be done.”


The young man replied, “I can do that!” He immediately left and came upon a homeless man on the street who looked like he had not eaten in days. He took the man to a restaurant and bought him a nice hot meal. After he dropped off the homeless man, the young man, who was feeling pretty good, returned to the wise man and told him what he had done. He then asked him, “Do I now have humility?”


The wise old man replied, “Not yet!” The young man’s face fell and after a while, he asked the wise man, “What else must I do to acquire humility?” The wise man said, “Go out and find someone else who is beneath you and do something nice for him.”


This upset the young man who replied, “But I did that already! If I go help someone else, will I then have humility?” The wise man replied, “No you will not!”


This upset the young man even more and he asked, “How many people do I have to help… 10 people?”


“No!”


“100 people?”


“No!”


“I don’t understand… please tell me how many people I have to help? How will I know when I have obtained humility?” asked the young man.


The wise old man replied, “You will have obtained humility when you can no longer find anyone that you think is beneath you!”




Seek Humility

Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed!

What is a Value?


A value is simply a label for something that is most important to you. It is important enough that you spend time trying to obtain it or keep it as a part of your lifestyle.


Values are essential to effective leadership. They are the uncompromisable, undebatable truths that drive and direct behavior. They are motivational, giving us the reason why we do things; and they are restrictive, placing boundaries around behavior. Values are those things that we deem important and that provide direction and guidance in spite of our emotions.


Your values reflect a vital part of who you are.  Knowing what is most important to you and why can be helpful when making meaningful decision and for developing effective relationships.


It is very tough to make decisions about your business without first knowing what is most important to you and your business.


People who are confused and unclear about their values often have difficulty making the bigger decisions in life because they do no know themselves well enough to decide what would be best for them and their business.

Over the next week or so I am going to go into more detail about each one of these core values and how important they are to the success of your business.

How do you know whether you are living on purpose according to your life purpose statement?

If you don’t know what your life purpose is, how can you possible be living on purpose? So either way it isn’t easy to work out how your life is going.


Let’s try some questions. If you answer NO to any one, or possibly even all of these questions, you might not be living on purpose.

• Do you wake up in the morning excited to start the day, every day, not just week-ends or on your days off?

• Do you love your work and is it a career for you or a burden?

• Do you often read a book or article online because it is interesting and will enrich your life and could possibly increase your knowledge for your work?

Here are a few that you might want to answer YES to and realize you are not living on purpose.

• Do you often find yourself eating because it makes you feel good, and it helps you cope better with the day?

• Do you look forward to your drink in the evening because it’s the only time during the day you can feel relaxed and happy?

• Are you constantly looking to make more money so that you can do something else, although you have no idea what you might want to do?

• Are you and your credit card best buddies? Do you binge shop regularly and have a cupboard full of clothes which you have only worn once, if at all?

• Do you long to go on a romantic cruise because it could let you meet up with the man of your dreams?

• You’re in a loving relationship but you like to look at good looking people and speculate what it would be like to have an affair with them because there’s no harm in having some fantasies?

• When you go on holiday to another city and especially if traveling outside your country do you wish you could live there because things could be so much more exciting, or settled, or interesting, or lucrative?

• You would love to buy a new car because you know it will make you feel great to be able to show off to other people that you’ve made it.

• You live in the wrong suburb. If you could move to the one on the other side of the park it would be so much nicer. And the houses are much bigger.

So how did you make out with all of the questions? Some might have made you laugh, some might have got you thinking a little. In each case there could have been some discomfort in you that made you realise that you are striving at all the wrong things in life in order to make yourself feel happier. These would be external things to make the internal happier however most of them just don’t work.


Remember none of the above questions show that you are doing anything wrong. That’s not the point of the exercise. It was just for you to reflect on whether there are things in your life that you are doing that might give you instant gratification but are not what truly makes you happy.


In other words you are not living on purpose.

Living On Purpose

Living on purpose is about making choices everyday that are in line with what drives you, what is truly important to you It is about first finding out what your passions are in life. It is about following your heart and doing what you love to do most.


People who know their purpose and are living it, know who they are and why they are here. They live true to their core values as they serve themselves and others through the expression of their life purpose.


Living on purpose is living a life filled with blessings and having no doubt about the blessings life has to offer, knowing that there is an God that is working in your favor.


Life is a gift.. and every breath we take is a gift from God. We all have the power to make the decision to either live life a 100% or just to float along, allowing influences to control our lives.


The purpose of life is a life of purpose.

1) You never knew your friends and family could be so unsupportive and negative.

But that doesn’t seem to happen very often for many folks in Network Marketing. As a lot of their friends and a lot of their family do the exact opposite. And they try and tell you you should do the same thing. Why? Because they want you to get into their negative mud.


In Network Marketing and any home business, you got to get this…….

“You Are Swimming Upstream.”

Did you get that?

You might as well understand that when you go against the grain in doing something that is not considered normal such as getting a job, you are swimming upstream.


We are what I can the “Salmon Of The World.” We are swimming upstream if you will towards success, while the world is flowing downstream or opposite of us, towards struggle and survival.


That is just the way it is. And we often make the biggest mistake in Network Marketing because of this.




2) You find out that most of your friends have already given up on doing anything great with their life.


That’s a real bummer. I remember finding out from several of my friends that they just gave up on doing anything great with their lives. You want the best for your friends and family, but it seems that they already have given up on doing anything that smacks of greatness in their life.

“They make excuses for all that they do not have or do, and then politely put you down many times for wanting to do better.”

Did you get that?

And many times, you have a tendency to listen, as they truly sound sincere and caring.


That is one that I personally went through, and it hurt. As many of my friends today still live a mediocre average life, when they could have had an extraordinary life. And this tremendously influences people to make the biggest mistake in network marketing.


3) The world actually is more focused on “getting through the week”, instead of giving whatever it takes daily to get the week to give to you what you want.

Getting through the week is a great past time for a lot of folks, and nothing wrong with that. But if you have the talent to succeed massively, and don’t use it, and end up with a life that is not what you really wanted in life, you have no right to complain. You have allowed yourself to be deceived into thinking that this is how life is supposed to be.


That deceptive thinking brings us to the Biggest Mistake made in Network Marketing and what is that?

“Thinking that being average and mediocre in life is how it’s suppose to be. ”

Did you get that?

Thinking that being average and mediocre in life is suppose to be and even though you gave Network marketing your best shot, you return to the life and way of thinking that you had, as this is the way it is “supposed to be.”

It’s not suppose to be that way. I don’t care who tells you what. Being average and mediocre is not how life is suppose to be. You need to be and should be living an extraordinaire life. And the challenge is we take those words “suppose to be” as facts, as truth, as the gospel but it’s not. But it’s not suppose to be according to whom. You need to add those 3 words on the end of it, “according to whom?”

The 3 biggest thieves in Network Marketing that has ever existed are the words “Supposed to Be.” It’s that simple. These words have helped more people give up on their dreams than any other thing that I have personally found.


And it is a HUGE mistake to buy into these words and their poisonous influence. Don’t you dare!


WHY is it such a huge mistake?



Giving up on your dream is NOT how it is “supposed to be,” not anywhere close to how it is suppose to be.


Especially for you.


But it’s ONLY how it is supposed to be for others and they’ve already given up on their own dreams.


If people want to give up great. But don’t you give in!

You should NEVER give in, give up, or give out! You should GIVE MORE!

• Give more Belief to your dreams in Network marketing.

• Give more Action to your dreams in your home business.

• Give more Positive Thoughts to your dreams in MLM.

• Give more Energy to your dreams in your home business.

• Give more Determination to your dreams.

And again it’s about giving more. More belief, more action, more positive thoughts, more energy, more determination. And I want to fill you in on a secret and I want you to get this next statement. I want you to get it in your heart.

We all have mountains of clutter around. This could be physical clutter that means that every time we are looking for something it takes twice the time to find. It could be tasks that we have taken on ourselves such as doing all the housework while our partner watches TV that easily eliminate our free time.


Or it could just be too many repetitive activities such as scanning our email several times a day instead of once a day, or finding a quicker route to work, or using an easier shop close by for the daily grocery requirements. All it needs is a closer look at what you fill your day with and with some clever planning you could free substantial time for all sorts of great achievements.


Review everything you do in a regular day whether this needs doing or whether it can be dumped to the trash can of bad habits. You will be surprised how much time you spend on aimless tasks that add no value to your life.


Just by doing this one thing alone by canceling some of the time spent in front of the TV could help you find the time needed to achieve a wonderful goal such as learning how to have financial freedom in your life.


Smart goals is a great way to stay motivated throughout the year and being organized is not a personality trait. It’s a skill anybody can learn.

Here is an excerpt on biblical principles for business taken from Henry Blackaby’s book called, “God In The Marketplace” that I felt led to share with you today.





The Bible offers plenty of instruction regarding business success. Here are 12 principles that you can start applying today.


1. Whatever You Do In Word Or In Deed, Do It For The Lord.

As you perform your job, realize you are living for Christ. He should receive honor through your career just as he does through your church involvement. As a Christian, you are a spiritual being; therefore your work life is as spiritual as your devotional life. It all belongs to God.


2.  Do All Things Without Complaining And Disputing.

Don’t be a whiner. The world has plenty of critics and complainers. Keep a positive spirit. You know the Lord. No problem is beyond his power.


3. Be Humble.

Follow Jesus’ example: Christ relinquished his heavenly throne to live as a commoner among the people he had created. Even secular leadership pundits recognize that great leadrs are humble people who make the places they lead great.


4. Watch What You Say.

Words aptly chosen can encourage and energize others. Careless talk can debilitate you or your listener. Don’t speak rashly. Think before you speak. Be mindful how you address others. Do you tend to inspire people, or injure them? Winning an argument gives fleeting gratification, but winning a friend brings lasting satisfaction.


5. Keep Learning.

Smart leaders realize there is much they don’t know. Keep reading, studying, and seeking advice. Maintain a teachable spirit. Don’t let pride hinder you from growing spiritually. the Bible is a treasure trove of wisdom, and even secular leaders are discovering that biblical principles make solid business sense. As a businessperson, you can’t afford not to know God’s Word.


6. Guard Your Integrity.

Whether you’re in politics, the professional sector, the marketplace, or church ministry, you are an ambassador for Christ. The competitive drive in leaders can temp them to compromise their principles if the outcome looks appealing. Don’t do it. You integrity is priceless. Don’t allow anyone or anything to dismantle it. God’s Word is filled with promises for those who honor him (1 Sam. 2:30). Scripture warns us that is we pervert our way, we will eventually be found out (Prov 10:9; Eccles. 10:1)


7. Work Hard!

Don’t spend your days scheming shortcuts to success. The reason many people underachieve is that they are not willing to pay the price of hard work. Lazy people do not impact the world for good. Rather, they have a negative effect on those in their sphere of influence. Ask God for his evaluation of your work ethic.


8. Seek Good Counsel.

Good advice is invaluable. The wisdom of a godly colleague can save you from disaster. You must be teachable, however, to benefit from counselors. Be proactive. Enlist a group of wise friends to help you process ideas and issues. Don’t be like King Rehoboam who ignored sage instruction and listened instead to people who led him to his ruin (1 Kings 12: 1-20). Only fools isolate themselves from those who will tell them the truth. (Prov. 18: 1)


9. Honor The Lord With Your Wealth.

Can God trust you with riches? Some Christian business people seek wealth simply to improve their lifestyle. Others have a greater vision for their earnings – investing in God’s kingdom. Your decisions in this regard will set you apart from secular magnates. While many non-Christian business people are philanthropic according to their personal interests. Christians give generously as God directs, knowing he will lead them to invest in eternity. Jesus urged: “Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure – pressed down, shaken together, and running over – will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”


10. Show Mercy.

Running a business or leading an organization requires some tough calls, but as you seek to improve your company’s standing, never forget to show mercy. You are where you are by God’s grace. It is possible to succeed in competitive markets while being gracious.


11. Control Your Anger.

Many leaders have lost everything because they could not control their temper. Anger is a deadly sin. Fury blinds people to what is important. Resentment eats away at your soul. Wrath destroys relationships, causing otherwise intelligent people to say foolish devastating things. Anger has not place in a Christian leader’s life.


12. Don’t Fear People.

God is the only One a spiritual leader should fear. He is the One who will eventually hold everyone accountable for their actions. Letting people intimidate you makes you vulnerable to compromising your faith and integrity. God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. Don’t live in fear. Follow your Christian convictions and allow God to vindicate you in his own way.

Does it require you to scratch your way through all of the layers of pre-conditioning you have acquired through many years to see what is going on inside of you? Well let’s see!


Many people live their lives just making do, never finding that passion. With this comes a constant sense of dissatisfaction or discontent. You always feel as if you are missing out on something, that life is drifting past without having achieved anything.


That feeling stems from inside of you where your inner self keeps on saying that what you are doing is not what your personal life purpose is. Many people never find it and spend their life with that niggling feeling that they are missing something.


Most often people who have this sense of missing something spend their time trying to fill that void with other things. You have probably experienced this yourself. You spend your money on buying new clothes, cars or homes in the hope that it will make you feel good.


It does feel good to drive that new car or move into a lovely home, but the happy feeling is always short lived. It never lasts because it doesn’t address the underlying feelings of unease that you have.


You might find yourself drifting from one relationship to another, hoping to discover in the new partnership a feeling of completeness that you know is out there somewhere but that you are just not able to find.


If all those lovely new things don’t make you happy for long and your relationships are not fulfilling you perhaps it’s time to start thinking about what your personal life purpose is. Finding that and aligning yourself to this purpose could be what you have been looking for for so long.


The search for your personal life purpose has puzzled people for thousands of years. That’s because we typically begin at the wrong starting point – ourselves. We ask self-centered questions like;

• What do I want to be?
• What should I do with my life?
• What are my goals, my ambitions, my dreams for my future?

But focusing on ourselves will never reveal our life’s purpose.

“It is God who directs the lives of his creatures; everyone’s life is in his power.”

Contrary to what many popular books, movies, and seminars tell you, you won’t discover your life’s meaning by looking within yourself. How do I know that? Because I have tried this. I have read numerous new age books, watched The Secret, tried meditation, and read angel cards. I did everything in my human power to discover my personal life purpose till I discovered the truth.

“You didn’t create yourself, so there is no way you can tell yourself what you were created for!”

You were made by God and for God – and until you understand that, life will never make any sense. It is only in God that we discover our origin, our idetity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny. Every other path leads to a dead end.


Your personal life purpose is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness. It’s far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God.


It seems that people are waking up to the fact that they are not following their life purpose and in fact have no idea what that could be. Many people end up thinking that the problem is that they are not good enough, that they need to improve themselves.


They think that if they work hard enough on the self-improvement angle then they will feel better about themselves and the lives they lead. Is that the answer? Surely not.


The self-improvement work is just another misleading direction to take. Finding the life purpose and following it is a better way of finding that inner happiness and contentment.


Many self-help books encourage you to work out what your personal life purpose is. I have read many self-help books even Christian ones, that suggest ways to discover my personal life purpose.


Self-help books approach the subject from a self-centered viewpoint. They usually offer the same predictable steps to finding your life’s purpose:

• Consider your dreams
• Clarify your values.
  
• Set some goals.
• Figure out what you are good at.
• Aim high.
• Go for it!
• Be disciplines.
• Believe you can achieve your goals.
• Involve others.
• Never give up.

Of course, these recommendations often lead to great success. You can usually succeed in reaching a goal if you put your mind to it. But being successful and fulfilling your personal life’s purpose are not at all the same issue!


You could reach all your personal goals, become a raving success by the world’s standard, and still miss the purposes for which God created you.

Knowing your personal life purpose gives meaning to your life, it simplifies your life, it focuses your life, it motivates your life, and it prepares you for eternity.

What do you have that you’ve been given?

Talent, background, education, freedom, networks, opportunities, wealth, ideas, creativity. What are you doing with what you have been given? That’s to me is the primary question about life. That’s to me is what being purpose driven is all about.
