The Single Best Investment You Can Make In Yourself, Swim Upstream

January 28th, 2010

Rule #10 – Swim Upstream

Swim Upstream

Go the other way. Ignore the conventional wisdom. If everybody else is doing it one way, there’s a good chance you can find your niche by going in exactly the opposite direction.

“You have to believe in yourself when no one else does.  That’s what makes you a winner.” Venus Williams

Being able to swim upstream whether it is starting a new business, stopping the dysfunction in your family or standing up for your beliefs takes guts.

Take A Leap!
Come to the edge, He said.
They said: We are afraid.
Come to the edge, He said.
They came.  He pushed them,
And they flew…..

Guillaume Apollinaire

Belief is the starting point of all achievement.  Without a belief in your mission and in yourself,  you can never succeed on a long-term basis.  You may have temporary success, but eventually the supercomputer between your ears will work to sabotage your success.

If You Are Going To Swim Upstream You Must Take Action

We all know people who have lots of dreams and ambitions, but unfortunately none of it is accompanied by any real action.  They talk about what they are going to do when they finally get their last degree or move to the day shift or get enough money together to start their own business or whatever the excuse is this week.

The unfortunate truth is that many people have their wishbone where their backbone should be.  All the “wouldas, couldas and shouldas” in the world will not get a single thing done.

“A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decided to do something about them now. Not tomorrow.  Not next week.  But today.  The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.” Nolan Bushell

All the successful people I know have been willing to take a chance – a leap of faith – even though they were afraid.  Sometimes they were terrified, but they knew if they didn’t act, the opportunity would pass them by.  They trusted their intuition and they simply went for it.

“Do you want to be safe and good, or do you want to take a chance and be great?” Jimmy Johnson

Get In The Game, Swim Upstream

You have probably heard the story of the good and faithful man who fell on hard times.  He seemed to encounter one financial disaster after another.  One night in desperation, he prayed, “Dear God, please let me win the lottery!”  At first, he was optimistic that God would grant his wish. However, after not winning for several months, his faith began to falter.  After a year, he became downright bitter.

In anger, he shouted at the heavens, “God, I believed you would help me, yet an entire year has passed without you answering my prayers!”  At that moment, lighting flashed and thunder rolled and a voice bellowed from the heavens, “Give me a break up here!  The least you could do is buy a ticket!”

Have you bought your ticket?  Have you taken a chance on yourself?  And that does not mean you have to quit your job, sell your home and sink your life savings into a new business tomorrow.  But it does mean that you have to start where you are, with what you have and do something.

There is real power in just getting started.  In fact, momentum is one of the strongest forces on the planet.  For instance, a standing locomotive can be held in place by a small block of wood.  However, once that same locomotive gains momentum, it can crash through a solid brick wall – it becomes unstoppable.  You are the same way.  As soon as you get momentum behind your actions, you too will be unstoppable.

Are you unstoppable?

Are you ready to swim upstream?

Are you ready to take action?

Are You Unemployed And Broke?

November 26th, 2009

Unemplyed & Broke

Unemployed & Broke

Being unemployed and broke really sucks. It seems to make life so much more difficult.

It never even occurred to me till I read from the book,”Getting Rich Your Own Way: Achieve All Your Financial Goals Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible,” that there are 5 ways why people stay poor.

1. It never occurs to them that they, too, can become wealthy.
2. They never decide to become wealthy.
3. They procrastinate.
4. They cannot discipline themselves to delay gratification.
5. They operate with a short time perspective.

Commit yourself to instruction; listen carefully to words of knowledge.

I am an Interior Decorator by trade and I loved helping people decorate their homes but I didn’t like working for someone else. My last job I was so mistreated by a co-worker that I quit, because enough was enough. No job or paycheck is worth that kind of stress. After that experience I decided that I would never work for someone else again.

So Now What! I Am Unemployed And Broke!

Become A No-Limit Person

Wherever you are in your financial life today, does not matter or determine whether you, too, can become wealthy over the course of your working lifetime.

Most millionaires and even billionaires, are first-generation. They are self-made. They started with nothing. They earned every penny by applying their talents and abilities to the opportunities that they either discovered or created.

If you sincerely desire to be rich, there is nothing outside of you that can stop you. Every type of person with every imaginable handicap, limitation, and obstacle has found a way to overcome their difficulties and go on to great success.

Take a look at this video on how Sean has no limits!

Now I am sure after viewing this video, you realized that you have no limits either, only the limits that you place on yourself.

So in order to overcome being unemployed and broke, you need a plan, self discipline, and hard, hard work. Anyone telling you any different is lying to you.

Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears, wealth from hard work grows over time.

Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts leads to poverty.

If you are willing to pay the price of success in advance and keep paying it over and over until you achieve your dreams, you will surely succeed. The only real question you have to answer is, how badly do you want it?

“You can have anything you want- if you want it badly enough. You can be anything you want to be, have anything you desire, accomplish anything you set out to accomplish – if you will hold to that desire with singleness of purpose.” – Robert Collier

So now you are probably wondering how you can go from unemployed and broke to being financially independent?

Here’s what I did……

I started my own home based business. Now I am the CEO of my own business. I am no longer working my butt off to make someone else rich who doesn’t appreciate me. No more dealing with people honking at me or giving me the F finger during rush hours. No more being so exhausted after work, only having to come home to try catch up on all the things that I had to do at home. I felt like I was on a treadmill that just kept going around and around with no hope in sight of how I was going to get off.

However before you consider a home based business there are eight key factors that you should look for before you make a choice.

1. Quality Products With A Good Reputation
2. Fair and Competitive Prices
3. Money-Back Guarantee
4. Small Inventory Requirement
5. Prompt Delivery
6. Strong Support Organization
7. Honest and Integrity At All Levels
8. Sell Consumable Products

If you are sick and tired of being unemployed and broke and are serious about taking charge of your life I can help you.

Quitting my job was the best thing I ever did, working from home has changed my life. Now only have I found a great partner company but I have also found the best marketing system around to promote my business, without chasing my friends & family, buying useless leads, or cold calling. Now I only have to talk to people who already want to talk to me.

Believe that no one is better than you and no one is smarter than you.

You can work hard and become a leader; or be lazy and become a slave to all the lenders. The choice is ultimately yours.

However I believe in you. You Can Do It!

You can be the CEO of your own company and the best thing about this business is that you are not alone. You have a team of experts waiting to take you by the hand and guide you and mentor you to success.
