Too Busy Earning A Living To Know What True Wealth Is?
“This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or a brother, yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can. But then he asks himself, “Who am I working for? Why am I giving up so much pleasure now?” It is all so meaningless and depressing.“
What Is The Meaning Of Wealth?
According to the dictionary wealth means abundance of valuable material possessions or resources.
Famous author Robert Kiyosaki states, “that your wealth can be calculated by how long you can financially survive after you stop working.”
Deepak Chopra says, “Material success by itself without significance to the common good ultimately is not fulfilling.”
What Is The Meaning Of True Wealth You Might Ask?
According to Deepak Chopra, “True wealth comes from creativity.” Somehow, in modern society, wealth and money have become equated. Money is not wealth. Wealth in its true sense is success,” as Chopra defines it for himself.
In an interview with over 500 people, true wealth will be viewed differently by everyone! True wealth may be to have the time to do what you want, when you want and with whom you want. It may be to travel all over the world, or to not have to worry about the bills! Too many times we associate the world “wealth” with how large one’s bank account is.
What Is The Difference Between Wealth And True Wealth?
Well let me explain…..
Seven years ago I fell 18 ft and almost died. In fact I did die for a few moments but during the time that I was dead, I had a conversation with God. He told me it was not my time yet that he had more work for me to do on earth.
God had been trying to tell me that there was more to life than just work.
“Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit.”
However I didn’t hear him because God often whispers and I never took the time to listen. So God had to get through to me somehow and because I am so stubborn sometimes, I needed to fall 18 ft, hit my head a few times before I would hear him.
“Such is the fate of all who are greedy for money, it robs them of life.”
Don’t miss the point like I did. I wish I’d spent as much time and energy accumulating relationships as I had decorating houses. I wish I had invested my heart as aggressively as I did my work. Only now do I understand true wealth, and none of it appears on a balance sheet.
Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!
Pursuit of worldly wealth will result in deceitful behavior, disgrace, and ruin. Money and possessions are to be seen as a blessing from God. If we forget that they are from God, we may forget who our God is. Therefore, seek wisdom and a fear of the LORD above all else and wealth will find you.
Wealth is one place where the middle of the road seems to be the safest place to be. With that said, wealth is looked upon favorably when achieved with good means and through godly character. The Master Card commercials capture the essence of wealth as described in Proverbs. Wealth can purchase many things and provide for many things but it cannot obtain the most important things in life: love, fellowship, and wisdom. Basically, wealth should not be despised but it should not be coveted.
However, there are definite benefits to having wealth. Wealth results in honor and power. People are more likely to listen to you if you have money. People will give you respect when you have money. You will be able to accomplish things with money. People who have wealth are more likely to have a lot of friends. Wealth ensures that you will not starve. People in poverty will be unable to achieve these things. Wealth gives security but it does not save a person from death. Wealth can provide many things but it is not a replacement for God.
However be careful because Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears;wealth from hard work grows over time. There are so many get-rich-quick schemes that are robbing people of their money but there are also legitimate home based businesses as well. You just need to do your homework.
I believe true wealth is a combination of worldly goods and godly wisdom. Wealth must be obtained through hard work and integrity. Only the person who walks in righteousness and seeks wisdom will find true wealth. When a person walks in wisdom and righteousness wealth will be a reward for their faithfulness.
“I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.”
In summary, wealth is a result of and a reward for faithful living. A person who seeks wisdom and walks with integrity will find true wealth. True wealth cannot be measured by worldly goods but rather by the richness of relationships, the honor given by others, and by intimacy with God.
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce and you will be blessed.”
But just remember, “It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, But if there’s no one to help, tough!” With a home business, we are in business for ourselves but we are not alone. That’s what is really cool about a home based business.
And this is my final thought, “It is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.”
